This model train is a reproduction model from LS Models (reference LS472004). This reproduction is inspired by a second class passenger car of the type UIC-X Bm. This rolling stock was used by the Swiss Federal Railways in the 1970s, a charismatic era for the world of railways, since it was the first of its kind in Switzerland;It saw the end of steam locomotives, the rise of diesel power, which was quickly halted by the oil crises, and the resurgence of electrification. This HO scale miniature train recreates many of the original details of this railway vehicle. The interior layout of the 12 compartments is perfectly reproduced, as is the overall line of this bogie passenger coach. The silver roof and the green side panels with the old SBB logo perfectly mimic the style of this Swiss train from the 1970s.
At the same time, the passenger carriage is a real eye-catcher.
UIC-X passenger carriages were a standard for international trains established by the International Union of Railways in the early 1960s. At that time, Switzerland bought several series of this type of coach, including 220 UIC-X Bm cars in 1972. Originally, the Bm coach had 12 second-class compartments. This towed equipment was fitted with Schlieren bogies, enabling them to reach speeds of 160 km/h at a weight of almost 37 tonnes.
