Presentation of the power car under reference MOI-MX.009/5,
The motrices in the CC 7100 series were built in 1949 by the Alsthom company. They were marketed in France but also in foreign countries such as Spain, Algeria, China, the USSR, the Netherlands and Morocco. These models beat the railway speed record on several occasions (2 times).
The railway company SNCF ordered 43 examples of this series, and they were delivered between 1952 and 1954. In 1954 and 1955, the company repeated their purchase, requesting a further 15 locomotives. This series of 58 locomotives are numbered CC 7101 to 7158.
Their design is recognisable by their "oeil de boeuf" side windows drawn and designed by Paul Arzens (which was the first locomotive he designed for the SNCF company).
