MRCE's 185 552 electric locomotive, currently leased to Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Français, has the following features:
- It is fitted with the version with "Nightjet" decals.
- The pantographs benefit from an innovative fastening.
- The windscreen wipers can be fitted individually.
- Equipped with complex prints, it offers a high level of detail.
- The long-range lights, driver's cab lighting and front or rear lights can be activated separately in digital mode.
The 185 551 to 557 locomotives, as well as those of the DB-185, were the first TRAXX to obtain homologation in France. Delivered to MRCE in 2005/06 in black livery, they were put into service for the launch of the Nightjet Paris - Cologne - Vienna service in December 2022. This night service is operated jointly by SNCF and Österreichische Bundesbahnen, using locomotives specifically adapted for these trains.
