Fleischmann offers an OSB 44 series steam locomotive, Analogue, in N 1/160th scale, under reference 714407.
Characteristic of the scale model:
This Scale Model is typically designed to pull freight trains. Its medium-sized driven axles, fitted with smaller wheel flanges, are ideal for pulling all kinds of vans or hopper wagons, flat wagons, miniature rancher wagons. They therefore have 2 driven axles with traction tyres!
Coupling box to NEM 355 standard with short coupling kinematics.
Sliding coupler mechanics connecting the locomotive to the tender.
Next18 electrical interface for traction units.
Interior layout of the driver's cab.
This machine also has a three-light LED Fanal.
Digital sound model available as part number 714478 from the manufacturer Fleischmann.
A bit of history:
With the operation of the Passau-Wels line, which was then allowed an axle load of 20 tonnes, the powerful three-cylinder 44 series locomotives were used in Austria from 1938. They were indispensable for towing heavy and particularly long block trains from West Germany to the Linz steelworks. Ore trains from Hieflau were also taken from Amstetten to Linz. After the Second World War, some locomotives were still in service. However, due to the high cost of maintenance, they were soon taken out of service.
Manufacturer Fleischmann,
The model railway brand originating in Germany, Fleischmann was founded in 1887 by Jean Fleischmann. But it was in 1949 that the company created its first model train, which was designed in O: 1/45th scale. The company was subsequently acquired by Modelleisenbahn GmbH in 2008.
In 2017, Fleischmann decided to specialise in the design of model railway products in N: 1/160th scale. From now on, the production of HO: 1/87th scale equipment is reserved for the Roco brand, which currently belongs to the same group.
Like the Roco brand, the brand is characterised by their attention to detail, and the robustness of their products, which are designed from metallic materials. The brand also offers railway accessories (spare parts, tyres, couplings, etc.) and digital modules (analogue controller, digital control unit, digital remote control, etc.).
