A little history:
Car latrines were used to evacuate urban wastewater, mainly from large cities. Transport from cesspools to loading stations was carried out using horse-drawn vehicles. From there, transport continued to various unloading points in unit trains. One of these unloading points was located outside the city gates of Schwäbisch Gmünd. There, the load was dropped into trenches and temporarily stored. Farmers collected the so-called "private manure" at a later date and then distributed it over fields in the surrounding countryside.
