The German-born railway modelling brand, Fleischmann was founded in 1887 by Jean Fleischmann. But it was in 1949 that the company created its first model train, which was built on an O:1/45 scale. The company was subsequently acquired by Modelleisenbahn GmbH in 2008.In 2017, Fleischmann decided to specialise in the design of products based on the N: 1/160 scale railway model.
