Under reference JOUEF 2387, here is the X-2700 series RGP2 Diesel Railcar of the SNCF, in delivered in orange and silver, period IV and scale HO 1/87th, in its Analog 2-track version, direct current.
Machine features:
- Flat and low 5-pole motor with flywheel in the motorised unit hidden under the interior.
- Wheel with original external profile.
- Interior working lights in the motorised (X 2700) and cab-controlled (XR 7700) trailer unit, controllable when fitted with a digital decoder.
- Front and rear lights switched on according to direction in analogue mode (white gold and red LEDs), controllable when fitted with a digital decoder.
- Short coupling mechanisms at the rear of the motorised unit and at both ends of the trailer unit.
- NEM 362 coupler pockets on all couplers.
- 21-pin MTC digital socket (NEM 660) in both units (railcar and trailer).
- Digital versions with sound (HJ2386S/87S/88S) equipped with a DCC digital sound decoder and "sugar cube" speakers for perfect sound quality.
- All separately mounted details are pre-installed. Front of wagon fitted with decorative coupler and brake hoses.
- Rear end of cab control trailer can be fitted with bellows to couple to a 2nd trailer or railcar-trailer pair.
A little history:
Derived from the previous X 2720 and X 2770 series (RGP 1), characterised by a single diesel traction, the X 2700, also known as RGP 2, was equipped with two Renault type 517-V12 engines capable of delivering 300 hp and could reach a top speed of 124 km/h.The 20 units ordered by the SNCF, based on a project by the Office national de la recherche ferroviaire, were built from 1954 and remained in service until the 1990s.
The X 2700s comprised a set of two units, one of which was motorised, and had its trailer which was defined XR 7700, they were used for long and medium journeys, even across borders and sometimes as far as Geneva.
