Thisminiature locomotive is a scale model by REE MODELES (ref. MB136SAC). It is a magnificent replica of a steam engine from the SNCF. This rolling stock is adapted to an HO scale rail network. The livery dates from Era III, between 1946 and 1970. The original locomotive is a 2-231 K 44 steam engine from the Calais depot, fitted with a 38m³ tender with yellow fillets. The copy meticulously reproduces many original details:
- the boiler with its impressive pipework
- the chassis with its metal wheels and connecting rods
- the cockpit where two mechanic figures (supplied)
- the steam dome and sandpit
- the highly realistic coal bunker

The steam locomotive 2-231 K 44 from the Calais depot
This steam locomotive is of the Pacific PLM 6000 series type. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century. Originally very streamlined, its physonomics has evolved over time. The first Pacific locomotives arrived in Calais, northern France, in 1956. In particular, they hauled express trains to Amiens and Lille or the famous Flèche d'Or train linking Paris and London.The last examples of these legendary trains were withdrawn from circulation in 1969.
