Single Junction Crossing (SJC) track crossing code 75 Peco SLE180 Electrofrog with a length of 249 mm, an angle of 12°.
The TJS is a crossover that allows for lane changes like a switch.
The track change can only be made on one side as long as a Peco SLE190 Double Junction Crossing (DJC) allows the track change on both sides.
To motorize a TJS or TJD, two motors are required.
The Peco brand of track offers a broad range of track for building a model train layout.
The English company is known for its code 100 and 75 scale HO 1/87.
The track profiles are made of maillechort (an alloy of copper and brass), materials that offer very high electrical conductivity and do not oxidize (easier cleaning of the rails).
Peco's HO 1/87 scale turnouts are available in two technologies:Insulfrog and Electrofrog.
Insulfrog models have a core point made of plastic (and therefore not electrically powered). These turnouts are recommended for model train systems in analog operation (conventional transformer power supply).
Electrofrog models have a metallic core point (allowing for better power pickup from locomotives). Thus, at low speeds, the engines run more smoothly. These turnouts are recommended for model train networks in digital operation (digital power supply).
The turnout deviation system allows the turnout to be motorized with several types of motors:
A tabletop motor reference Peco PL11 which is placed next to the turnout on the track plan.
An under-table motor part number Peco PL1000/PL1001 that sits below the layout support for unobtrusive installation.
The HO 1/87 scale Peco straight turnouts come in three lengths: short, medium and long.
