Schuco is a German toy manufacturing company, founded in Nuremberg in 1912 by Heinrich Müller and Heinrich Schreyer under the name Spielzeugfirma Schreyer & Co.
It was in 1921 that it shortened its initial name to "Schuco". It became famous from the 1930s onwards for its car collections. Initially, pressed sheet metal was the production method, with mechanism technology making Schuco one of the most sought-after, very upmarket brands; it was also one of the most expensive.
Today, although the sheet metal toy range is still in the catalogue under the Schuco classic name, the brand mainly produces metal-injected car miniatures, mainly of German brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, BMW, Opel and Porsche.
Since 1999, Schuco has been part of the German Simba Dickie Group, producing 1/87th HO, 1/43rd O, 1/24th and 1/18th scale equipment.
