Presentation of the model :
The union internationale des chemins de fer (UIC) designed in 1949, its own institute of research named ORE specialising in the construction wagons FRET. These wagons were used for the transport of goods.
The first company to put into circulation these covered wagons, was the company Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) with around 2600 models.
Then, the companies SNCF, FS OBB, NS, DSB, MAV, P.K.P, CFL, CFF have acted in the same way in their own versions of wagons standard UIC.
Finally the wagons of type Gmms 44, Gmm (eh) s 60, Gmms 40 and 216 have been built under 100,000 examples for all the companies of railways.
