Just like in real life, model vehicles in 1/87 and 1/160 scales are equipped with an engine, steering and an energy accumulator instead of a tank. To start, you have a start and stop switch on the underside of the vehicle, as well as a twoi micro switch, acting on the magnetic effect, which is also often called contact reed.
After the motor voltage is switched on, the vehicles run independently, without external voltage supply. For the steering of the vehicles, a steering end cap was attached to the front axle of the vehicle. This reacts on a special wire (steel wire), which is laid in the road surface, so that the vehicle keeps the steering.
Traffic offers many possibilities and requires some planning. To stop at traffic lights, railroad crossings and bus stops, there are stopping points. They consist of an electromagnet, which is lowered into the traffic lane. When voltage is applied, it switches off the motor voltage with its electromagnetic field, via the reed contact, integrated in the vehicle. You have a turnout for turning. This is an electric coil, which exits when activated the steering magnet from its straight line drive, to continue on a special separate drive wire. Very simple!
