Presentation of the model:
In 1942, reefer cars were built for the purpose of keeping suitable goods cool. These wagonshad several specific materials:
- A layer of thickness of 300 mm and an inner lining of zinc sheet to protect the wood from moisture
- To keep the doors watertight, The revolving doors were changed by sliding doors
- Vertical panels were painted white
From the 1950s, the German railway company DB made several changes in the design but also in the design by remodeling it. For example, the bearing-mounted axles required a lot of maintenance, and therefore wasted time, so the engineers replaced them with other more modern bearings.
The model train manufacturer Brawa, therefore offers you a reproduction under the scale HO: 1/87 of these cars.
